Terwa Construction Group is growing fast. The well-established supplier for the rough and prefab concrete construction industry is known, among other things, for its unique coupling systems, and its lifting and fastening systems are also in great demand. For years, production and engineering have largely taken place in Romania. With a large stock and a service center in the Netherlands, the company is able to accompany every project from A to Z, from concept and design to after-sales service.
Terwa has more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing metal components for the construction and precast industries. "We use state-of-the-art technology and have been cooperating with companies from all over the world for decades to do so," says CCO Frank Fakkel. "Production is centralized in Romania, with traditionally a lot of knowledge and expertise in the field of metal processing and components for the rough and precast concrete construction industry. With our own engineering department, we can respond very flexibly to customer requirements if required. In many cases, we can even customize or machine the products in our own workshop in IJsselstein."
Together with Fakkel, we walk through the impressive warehouse, with its wide variety of standard products. He picks out a few. "Look here, the PSA/TSE rebar breakthrough system is one of our runners-up," he says. "It's suitable for all types of rebar from 10 to 40 mm in diameter and suitable for dynamic and seismic loads. The products are available as electrogalvanized, hot-dip galvanized and with AISI class A2 or A4 coupling bushings. For large projects, if required, we supply a fully equipped mobile 'workshop' to press our couplings on site on rebar from 1 to 12 meters or even longer." We walk on past the Alligator couplings and then come across the prefab connector. "This is a product we recently introduced," says Fakkel. "It is a smart and simple connection system for precast concrete elements. The connectors can be loaded with their maximum load-bearing capacities immediately after installation and allow elements to be disassembled over time." With a broad and flexible product range, Terwa anticipates the increasing demand for circular construction.
"Our main goal is customer satisfaction, which is why we produce only quality," says Fakkel. "As a company, we are certified to ISO 9001:2015, 3834-2 and 14001 standards. Our products are certified and approved according to European and international standards. Quality is monitored and controlled throughout the production process by specialized and independent, international laboratories." That proven quality means we find Terwa's products in a wide variety of projects, from the prestigious Wonderwoods residential complex in Utrecht to large distribution centers. "We keep a close eye on the market and are at the forefront of new developments. We therefore have a solution for every detail, standard from stock or custom-made. And in all cases: fast delivery. Especially if customers use our digital Terwa Service Portal, where they can make their own calculation and view product documentation or the BIM library." He continues: "Construction projects take place all over Europe. We offer local support and service-oriented solutions with our team and dealer network. Whether it is supplies, technical support, a visit to the factory or construction site, there is always a Terwa partner nearby."
