Anchor specialist is ready for the future

In the Achterhoek town of Wehl, part of the municipality of Doetinchem, Schroeder-Ankers recently moved into new premises with offices and a production hall on the A18 industrial estate. From here, the company will continue to build on the strong name it has established in the concrete and steel sector. Schroeder supplies high quality anchors and reinforcement, fastening and transport systems to customers mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium. 

With a strong name comes quality products. "These are made and developed at the Neuenrade production site at Schroeder, the German parent company," explains operations manager Sabrina Bunzel. "We supply fastening, coupling and transport anchors. These products find their way to industry, precast concrete construction, steel builders and trade. For the latter group, we package our products under private label, a service that our dealers greatly appreciate."

Schroeder's products are supplied under KOMO, DIBT, ETA and with CE certification. Bunzel: "In Neuenrade there is a team running around continuously that does nothing but test connections and welds in products through and through. There are fewer and fewer companies in Europe that go this far, but for us it is very important. Schroeder can thus distinguish itself in the market with a quality that is obviously high and the market knows that. We also unburden our customers with this. Whoever buys products from Schroeder gets the right technical papers with them. That can play an important role in many processes where they operate."

Projects in civil engineering are usually picked up by Schroeder itself. "Consider, for example, the reinforcement of the Afsluitdijk being carried out by the Levvel consortium," Bunzel says not without pride. "The Afsluitdijk is a large project that requires special solutions due to the strong load of salt water, among other things. Our team, the structural engineer and the people responsible within the combination together develop the most ingenious permanent and temporary connections and fuses for this."

One such ingenious solution is Duplex, a stainless steel alloy containing austenite and ferrite. "Duplex is highly corrosion and acid resistant, has high tensile strength, excellent resistance to erosion and wear, and is very weldable. It is just not easy to machine and places very high demands on the tool and the machinist. At Schroeder, we have this completely under control. We specialize in friction welding and are fully equipped to work with Duplex."

For special materials and high corrosion resistance, Schroeder is a party that can supply products that meet the highest requirements. Also in the future. Bunzel: "Of course, we are not standing still. We are currently developing further from Duplex to Super Duplex. This material goes one step further in strength and corrosion resistance and with it we can help our customers take their projects to an even higher level. We are ready for the future!"
