Concrete game promotes the right conversation about sustainable construction and concrete

During the sustainable month of October, the Betongame, an online gamified learning platform for the student and professional, will be promoted. This online campaign should encourage people to play the game and raise awareness about sustainable construction and concrete.

In the concrete game, facts, insights and discussion points about concrete pass in review. A score indicates how well the player can relate to the different roles in the construction process and to the focus on sustainability. The game has stimulating statements for all roles, from student to professional. After playing, the player receives immediate feedback.

Preventing speech confusion

A group of representatives from the cement and concrete industry and construction sector, together with clients and partners in the chain, have calculated that it is possible to reduce CO2 by up to 60% from 1990 levels by 2030 and to return 100% of all circularly demolished concrete to new concrete products. This will only succeed if the cement and concrete chain, the construction industry and clients work better together and innovations are implanted more quickly. Better cooperation may mean that clients have to abandon plans or invest more money for certain things. But it may also mean that builders and designers will have to review their working methods and plans, organise waiting times differently, adapt or reuse constructions, or construct more leanly.
