The Center for Underground Construction (COB) offers suppliers the opportunity to present ideas or applications for circular tunnel technical installations to the entire tunnel sector. The knowledge institute is organizing the circularity challenge tunnel technical installations for this purpose. Entries can still be submitted until November 17, 2023.
Challenge participants can present their ideas and concrete solutions to decision-makers within the tunnel sector during the COB Tunnel Day on Jan. 25, 2024. In doing so, entrants take the first step toward actual implementation of their idea. Well-judged entries will receive a place in the Catalogue of Measures for Circular Tunnels in addition to the presentation during the Tunnel Day.
The five ideas that score best will also receive a promotion package worth 2,000 euros, consisting of a video recording in a professional studio, publication in the various CDE media and a press release (trade media and own use). They will also receive substantiated advice from the expert team for the further development of the idea.
In the second half of November, participants will have the opportunity to explain their idea before the evaluation committee, consisting of five experts with their own expertise and experience.
The goal of the challenge is to collect at least twenty circularity measures for the first version of the Catalogue of Measures for Circular Tunnels. This will be a (digital) reference work that will support the tunnel sector in reusing tunnel technical installations, among other things. The focus is initially on the replacement and renovation task.
