BetonKanoRace 2023. Register for the pre-event Concrete Canoe Race 2023.

The Concrete Canoe Race is an annual event for and by civil and structural engineering students. It is a unique race with homemade canoes made of concrete, showing students that there are more possibilities with concrete than making foundations, floors and columns. Hundreds of enthusiastic students work for months to build a canoe that is fast, durable and innovative. This makes the BKR an activity that links education, technology, fun and sports. A combination of dumb power and smart ideas.

In 2023 (from May 12 to 14) the Concrete Canoe Race will be organized by U-BASE, or United Building And Structural Engineering Association of the TU Delft. This is the study association for master students of the Construction Materials and Structural Engineering programs of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. U-BASE focuses on connecting students with each other and with companies through lectures, symposia, excursions and other events.

On Friday, March 31, the Nebest in cooperation with the Concrete Association and TU Delft the (free of charge) pre-event in preparation for the Concrete Canoe Race 2023. During the workshops Concrete Technology, Concrete Maintenance, Laboratory and Measurement Techniques, students' knowledge of concrete will be put to the test. This with a view to the Concrete Canoe Race but mainly to provide students with technical baggage that will come in handy during their working lives. At the end of this interactive day there will be a networking reception where the business community is challenged to participate in the Betonkanorace and get in touch with participating students.
