Concrete Event 2023 'En route' to circular and sustainable concrete

Thursday, November 16, 2023 Concrete Association organizes the 65th edition of the Concrete Event, at the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam. The moment in the year where the concrete (construction) sector meets. A conference with leading speakers on the latest developments in the industry combined with an exhibition floor and numerous networking opportunities where you gain knowledge, share knowledge and make knowledge. This year's theme is "En route" to circular and sustainable concrete.

The Concrete Event 2023 is more topical than ever. The concrete (construction) industry faces major challenges. CO2 emissions must be drastically reduced and other forms of sustainable construction must be normalized within a short time. A new theme will take center stage at the Concrete Event for the next three years. Here, the 4 program lines from the development program Concrete Reinvented (submitted to the National Growth Fund (NGF)) will be retained as the sub-theme, namely:

Within the first three subthemes, we are giving ample space to a variety of innovations within the sector; for the fourth subtheme, we are working with teachers and students at the mbo, hbo and wo levels.

"We, as the Concrete Association, see it as our task to get the chain moving in this transition to circular and sustainable concrete. That is why the theme of the Concrete Event 2023 is the route towards this. We are bringing the entire sector together. From young and old to realize joint growth and development, which contributes to a future-proof concrete (construction) sector," said director Concrete Association Maikel Jagroep.

During the 65th edition of the Concrete Event, the Concrete Experience will also be organized. A program specially developed for students of secondary and higher education to get acquainted with the sector. At the Concrete Experience students can do their own activities, experience and witness the diversity of the concrete chain and meet the many companies and professionals on the exhibition floor.
