The 10th Eurosteel conference, jointly organized by TU Delft, ETH Zurich and Building with Steel, and supported by ECCS, will take place in Amsterdam from Sept. 12 to 14, 2023, with a post-conference event at TU Delft on Sept. 15, 2023.
Eurosteel 2023 aims to present the latest research results from academics and practitioners regarding the use of steel and composite structures in structural applications, with the overall goal of promoting and enabling a more sustainable construction industry. The conference will include keynote addresses by invited speakers and numerous discussions on advanced technologies and future challenges.
The conference will address "Sustainability Policy and Research," with keynote speakers invited to address the importance of policy documents for future construction research and development. Prominent construction practitioners and researchers have been invited to address the conference through short pitches, paving the way for fruitful dialogue on stage and with attendees.
We expect 10 parallel sessions daily, but two sessions are sure to attract extra attention on the first day: "Reuse of Steel" and "Impact of New Eurocodes."
The latest developments in the analysis and design of new and traditional steel and steel-based composite structures will be presented, for a wide range of applications, including buildings, bridges, towers, renewable energy support structures and offshore structures.
Complementing more traditional topics, a specific focus of this event will be on emerging technologies and new approaches to further enhance the environmental sustainability and economics of structural solutions in steel.
A post-conference event will be organized in Delft, where colleagues from RWTH Aachen and University of Liege, together with ETH and TUD will lead an open discussion on the future of steel and composite structures at our universities: how to attract talented students and the key research topics of the future
Conference chairs: Prof. Dr. Andreas Taras, ETH, and Prof. Dr. Milan Veljkovic, TU Delft.
