Not before has it been possible to fireproof steel columns and beams with plasterboard, until now. Gyproc FireBloc is the latest innovation from Gyproc Netherlands and available from today. Biggest advantage? The easy processing and complete underpinning.
"We went looking for an opportunity to combine our knowledge of producing plasterboard with our years of experience in fire-safe construction. With Gyproc FireBloc, we succeeded! Fire prevention has the highest priority for every party involved in the construction phase. This is why Gyproc Netherlands develops high-quality products that meet requirements that are also easy to process."
The built environment in the Netherlands is increasingly constructed with steel columns and beams. If a fire breaks out, the temperature rises quickly and the strength of the steel decreases. Steel structures are therefore clad, giving people time to leave the building. There are strict requirements for cladding and the number of minutes the cladding must withstand.
To protect the steel, Gyproc FireBloc plasterboard sheets can now be used. These fiberglass-reinforced plasterboard sheets allow the processor to fireproof steel columns and beams.
For tubular protection of steel structures, there is Gyproc FireBloc S. If steel structures are incorporated into walls and ceilings, Gyproc FireBloc WP can be used.
The complete substantiation for Gyproc Firebloc systems, among others, are included in the latest edition of the Gyproc Fire Book (5the edition). Processing examples, clear detail drawings and the relevant requirements of the Building Code are included in the reference work for building professionals. The Gyproc Fire Book is now available for free download at www.gyproc.nl/brandboek/.
