Nominees benelux trophy for hot dip galvanizing 2023 known!

On March 24, the jury gave its verdict on the 66 projects participating in the 14^the edition of our biennial Thermal Galvanization Trophy. 

With this competition, Zinkinfo wants to show a sample of applications of hot-dip galvanizing. Hot-dip galvanizing offers designers and clients many advantages. Especially the long life and low maintenance are important assets of this preservation system. Moreover, designers appreciate the beautiful aging process of hot-dip galvanized steel, which actually only gets more beautiful with age. 

Since the 2019 edition, the BTTV subscribes to the philosophy of the SEATTLE ZINC campaign in which a distinction is made between Functional Galvanizing and Aesthetic Galvanizing. In addition, a separate category was created for Duplex (galvanizing + coating). Across the three categories, the jury awards the Circular Building Prize for projects in which the principles of circular building were applied as consistently as possible.

The nominated projects will now advance to the second and final round on June 16, where the jury will choose one laureate per category.

All submitted projects will be widely featured in a book that will be delivered to all submitters and stakeholders. A digital edition of the Zinkinfo Magazine will also be produced featuring all participating projects from the competition. 

Zinkinfo believes it is incredibly important for the construction industry to put its weight behind the circular economy. Circular construction should be promoted, and for that reason an award will also be given to a project that explicitly subscribes to the philosophy of circular construction.
