Pieter van Teeffelen new director BIM Loket

Pieter van Teeffelen new director of BIM Loket

On April 1, 2022, Pieter van Teeffelen will take office as the new director of the BIM Loket. He will take over from Jan Al, who has held this position ad interim since the end of last year. Since its founding in 2015, the BIM Loket has developed into a knowledge platform and network organization around digitization in the built environment. Pieter van Teeffelen is a connector and bridge builder pur sang, an experienced chain director with expertise in information organizations. These qualities make him the right person to take the next step with the BIM Loket.

Pieter van Teeffelen brings over 30 years of experience with (spatial) information organization. In various positions within the government he was involved in the national introduction of digital plans, computerization and standardization of (object) information and the further development of basic registries in conjunction. In his current position as director of DataLand, as a representative of Dutch municipalities at the national level, he is heavily involved in information projects and the availability and exchange of data, the integration of data registrations and the implementation of a digital system. He was one of the initiators of the "Roadmap BIM for Municipalities.

Van Teeffelen will lead the BIM Loket in a phase where the BIM Loket foundation, the digiGO movement and the DSGO program will work more closely together. All three are working towards the same goal: driving and facilitating the digitization of the built environment. Van Teeffelen's arrival coincides with the move to a joint office in the Bouwhuis in Zoetermeer.

"What attracts me in a social sense is that the need to build in the Netherlands is greater than ever. The sector's dot on the horizon is a sustainable, climate-resistant, circular and healthy built environment. If we want to achieve this at a good pace, at a high level of quality and efficiently, then standardization and digitization are crucial preconditions. The BIM Office plays a vital role in encouraging and standardizing. The DSGO program - the sector-wide digitization program of the Building Digitization Council - in which the many stakeholders in this field work together to set up a digital system for the built environment (DSGO), also fits in with this. This leads to efficient and effective collaboration. The BIM Loket is an enthusiastic and active partner in this major project."

The BIM Loket board is pleased with the new director. Chairman Roger Tan: "Pieter has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of digitization and standards. In addition, he is able to find the common interest in a diverse stakeholder field. We are convinced that he is the right person to lead the BIM Loket into a new phase. We wish Pieter every success and look forward to our cooperation in the coming years."
