Ruud van Doorn new chairman section Scaffolding Companies

Ruud van Doorn, formerly among other things CEO at one of the VSB members, has become chairman of the Scaffolding Companies Section of the Association of Scaffolding, Highwork and Concrete Formwork Companies (VSB). Ruud van Doorn takes over the section's gavel from Arjan de Velde. With this he also joins the General Board of the VSB, which further consists of Frank Klessens (chairman, Section Hoogwerkbedrijven) and Jan Remmits (treasurer, Section Betonbekistingbedrijven).

Ruud van Doorn has a rich career in the world of scaffolding. He was successively COO and CEO at Bilfinger Industrial Services, Chairman VOMI and Director and Advisor at Scaffolding Training Europe. He currently acts as trainer for the VOMI Academy and is External Expert Topkring at Endenburg Elektrotechniek.

The board of the scaffolding companies section continues to consist of Rob Engelaar (Bilfinger Industrial Services) and Chris Hunter (Kaefer) temporarily supplemented by Fred Schuijt (Altrad) and Remco Kruit (Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services).

This year, the Scaffolding Companies Section expects to complete an important update of the Scaffolding Directive. Efforts are also being made to further increase the number of members as well as new initiatives such as knowledge transfer, e-learning and product and process innovations. With members and donors, the VSB now has about 65 companies. The members alone represent an estimated annual turnover of 800 million euros. The broadly oriented constituency of the VSB pursues one common goal: to provide a safe workplace at height. Divided into three sections of erectors, manufacturers, suppliers and rental companies, the complete range of work equipment and products is represented. From steel scaffolding, mobile scaffolds, ladders, stairs, lifting scaffolds, construction elevators, aerial work platforms and suspended platform systems to concrete formwork, support structures and facade maintenance systems.
