Screw anchors are increasingly used in construction for mounting building components on concrete and stone because screw anchors can be processed faster than mechanical and chemical anchors. With its R&D department, HECO-Schrauben puts a lot of time into the testing and further development of its screw anchors, which are marketed under the name MULTI-MONTI-Plus. The company has introduced many new designs, which are approved for use in various concrete and stone types and for various applications.
Screw anchors have distinct advantages over mechanical and chemical anchors. Screw anchors are significantly cheaper and save a lot of time during installation thanks to their easy and fast processing. Screw anchors have reinforced serrations at the screw tip and special threads, which cut into the concrete. Only a hole needs to be drilled, which can be cleaned by moving the drill bit in and out of the hole a few times. After screwing in, the screw anchor can be loaded immediately.
Screw anchors can handle very high loads. They were initially used primarily in hard stone and cracked or uncracked concrete, but thanks to innovations and new approvals, they can now also be used for fixings in sand-lime brick, aerated concrete, brick and hollow-core slabs. With HECO's HCS 4.0 calculation software, the load and dimensioning of HECO screw anchors can be calculated. Based on the information about the project, substrate and conditions, a recommendation with 3D graphics rolls out for the optimal screw connection, screw type, dimensions and quantity required.
Screw anchors can be used for mounting cable trays, light fixtures, solar panels, facade panels, pipe systems, railings, crash barriers and noise barriers, among other things. Thanks to their stability in the event of fire, resistance to corrosion and easy (dis)assembly for inspections, they are also suitable again for fixing fire-resistant boards in tunnels. Some screw anchors are approved for multiple use; for example, in the (temporary) fixing of fall protection, shoring, formwork, scaffolding and supply lines on the construction site.
HECO-Schrauben has an extensive range of 25 types of screw anchors. In addition to the "normal" screw anchors, the MMS-plus V pre-piercing anchor is available for mounting fences and railings. For temporary fixings, the MMS-plus SSK has been developed and for mounting wooden elements on concrete, one can choose from the MMS-plus S or MMS-TC. Various head types such as hexagonal head, round head, eye anchor and internal and external threaded anchor allow the fixing of mounting rails and pipes.
HECO's MULTI-MONTI-Plus is approved for exposure to fire (in accordance with R120 and RWS 180) and for use in earthquake-prone
areas (categories C1 and C2). In addition, it complies with VdS Directive CEA 4001 for the installation of sprinkler systems.
