Theme afternoon: reusing steel, measuring is knowing

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, Nebest is organizing at their company together with Building with Steel the theme afternoon: Reusing steel, measuring is knowing.

One of the important pillars under the Steel Building Accord is the reuse of steel elements. This reuse must of course be done safely and responsibly. A group of experts is working hard with NEN to draw up a standard for the reuse of steel elements. This standard (NTA) is expected to be published in early 2023. When reusing steel, but more generally when reusing materials, essential properties will often be unknown. These will therefore have to be measured. To measure is to know.

Nebest is a company that has specialized in measuring material properties for many years. Nebest is also heavily involved in the drafting of the NTA reuse of steel. During this afternoon you will be given insight into the techniques that are available to quickly and efficiently determine the essential properties so that the reused responsible can start a new life.
