The Association of Scaffolding, Highwork and Concrete Formwork Companies (VSB) has presented its new Annual Report 2022. The presentation coincided with the association's General Meeting of Members, which took place at Slot Zeist. The annual report makes it clear that safety, quality and expertise are defining values for members when working at height.
In recent years, the VSB has laid the foundation for the association's continued growth. That growth is what the association wants to achieve in the coming years. Growth that will ensure that quality and safety become even more commonplace in the industry. Strong industry representation makes VSB an indispensable partner for stakeholders who are more or less involved in safe working at height. More members means: a broader representation of the association and a larger number of companies that comply with the VSB's Guarantee Scheme. A scheme that demonstrates that a VSB company works safely, delivers quality, has integrity and reliability and acts as a worthy and valued colleague in the market. A guarantee of quality, safety and expertise.
In the annual report, each section (Scaffolding companies, Highwork companies, Concrete Formwork companies) looks back and ahead at the past and coming year. Of particular note for the Scaffolding Companies Section are the forthcoming update of the Scaffolding Directive and increased attention to the prevention of theft of scaffolding equipment.
Within the Section Hoogwerkbedrijven plenty of attention is also given to guidelines. Here we are working hard on the arrival of the Directive on Suspended Platform Installations, which is intended for technicians and users alike and is structured in such a way that design, work preparation, execution, assembly, delivery and inspection as well as use are explained. In addition, VSB warns in its annual report against the deliberate or unconscious supply of incomplete mobile scaffolding by some traders, as a result of which the completeness of the scaffolding is often inadequate, leading to (life) danger. The association calls on employers, supervisors and users to check that the delivery and assembly of rolling scaffolds is complete.
The Concrete Formwork Companies Section is also starting work this year on updating "their" Directive on Concrete Formwork and Support Structures. Within the Section, the BIM Working Group continued to work on clarity and uniformity on the information to be supplied in BIM models for temporary facilities. Soon the ILS (Information Delivery Specification) for Temporary Structures prepared by the VSB will be presented, which is applicable for both client and contractor.
In addition to the sections, the various VSB committees also report in the annual report. Copies of the VSB annual report can be viewed and downloaded through the VSB website.
