With ecoplanet zero, 2022 for holcimin is all about a carbon-neutral future

A completely CO2-neutral cement, equally or even more performing for the majority of applications: that is ECOPlanet ZERO, a revolutionary cement bag launched by Holcim. A first in Belgium at the start of 2022.

In line with its commitment, the company is now also focusing on its cement products: with ECOPlanet ZERO, Holcim is taking a giant step forward today.

0% CO2: A FIRST

ECOPlanet ZERO is the first fully carbon-neutral bagged cement offered on the Belgian market. This carbon neutrality is achieved through the selection of materials with low environmental footprint and the optimization of the production process, but also through the full offsetting of the incompressible CO2 neutral bagged cement offered on the Belgian market. That carbon neutrality becomes emissions. How does Holcim compensate for this CO2 neutral bagged cement offered on the Belgian market. Those carbon neutrality wor emissions? By investing in certified sustainable development projects in collaboration with the company CO2Logic and the Royal Belgian Forestry Company. Thanks to our collaboration with the Royal Belgian Forestry Company, we can support the Treesforfuture project (the former Arboretums project) in Belgium. By developing new tree species, this project prepares the Belgian forests of tomorrow for climate change.
