Tumill-Tech: one-day consultancy delivers knowledge, efficiency and savings

Niels van de Gruiter, owner of Tumill-Tech: "We started using LiemarX about seven years ago. Over the years we got used to our way of working and there have been all kinds of developments. Hein van Beers, consultant at Liemar Software, spent a day with us and went over our processes with us. Certain options in Liemar we did not know, or were added later. Hein was able to tell us very specifically how we could make LiemarX work even better for us. That saves a lot of time.

Tumill-Tech from Middelburg, specializing in machining technology and waterjet cutting, actually made the appointment with Hein for another reason: "We were not yet using the software for our purchasing process. Hein came to give a demo to show how it works and what it can do for us. While discussing our processes, he noticed that we were not yet using Liemar optimally. Hein immediately showed which points we were working cumbersomely and which options the software has for it. That offers opportunities, of course.

'To give an example: we had our measurement lists in Excel. But when you create an order, you can immediately have a measurement list generated by Liemar. We stored our material certificates per order in a folder, but in Liemar you can easily link them. Liemar also has practical options for the 3D drawings we use. These are handy things. It saves loose ends, manual work and, if you work with several people, search work in shared administration.'

'Processes, customer requirements and digital capabilities are constantly changing. It is good to know what options Liemar already offers and what developments are in the background. Options that other Liemar users have already asked for. But what we don't know, we can't use. So I think - say once a year - I want to talk to a consultant for a day. Then he can look along and explain what can be done more efficiently, easier and faster. That does cost something, but it delivers so much that it pays for itself.'

'For the consultants, such a day is also useful. They see exactly what is going on in practice and what needs there are in the short and long term. That way the knife cuts both ways. And exchanging knowledge is always good, isn't it? If you share knowledge with each other, it makes you all stronger.
