In early 2022 the company KREANTIS was founded, specialist in concrete and reinforcement plans for civil engineering, precast elements and all on-site poured concrete. Right from the start, Tekla Structures was chosen because of its many possibilities in terms of precast drawing, multi-material modeling and creation of IFC exports. Senne Cuypers, one of the owners, explains, "For precast concrete, Tekla Structures seemed to us the most appropriate counter package. This to give us the necessary freedom as an independent drawing office." The company now draws steel structures in addition to concrete thanks to the multi-material aspect of Tekla Structures subscription. The subscription form thus gives further shape to the key word within KREANTIS: flexibility.
"In January 2022 we started with two subscription licenses and in the same month two colleagues joined us, making four," Cuypers says. "At that time, we had two Tekla licenses and two AutoCAD licenses. Now we are a total of eight employees in Belgium and three colleagues in Albania with a total of six Tekla licenses. The advantage is that they work with the same settings in Albania. Through Tekla Model Sharing, the models are shared and the production plans come out exactly the same way as they are made here in Belgium. This was another reason for choosing Tekla Structures. Tekla Model Sharing provides a flexible working environment, in which working from home and internationally is ingrained."
Cuypers proudly explains, "We focus not only on precast concrete, but also on industrial construction, civil engineering, all on-site cast-in-place concrete and even civil construction piping. It all happens with us." By choosing Tekla Structures subscription, KREANTIS now also has the ability to draw out steel structures. "At some point the question came up to draw something in steel and we did this then to start with steel. It is an extension of what we can offer. It's still a lot of work to get steel further up the rope, but what we need to do now, we're doing well with bill of materials and working drawings. After a few internal test projects to master everything, it has resulted in a first steel project."
About the future of KREANTIS, Cuypers is clear: "In the future, we are going to continue working with prefab and we want to continue to automate, especially automating an output to plans. What we are further looking at is to arm civil engineering, that is, bridges and tunnels, in Tekla Structures. There's just a lot possible in Tekla Structures."
Tekla Structures is a 3D BIM software that allows you to easily design, detail, plan, coordinate and manage your BIM projects. It allows you to directly and automatically generate production data for steel, timber and concrete builders or contractors.
